2012 Keating ‘Beckstoffer Georges III’ Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford

2012 Keating 'Encomium' Cabernet Sauvignon
Encomium (Latin) means "enthusiasm and warmth in praising a person or thing." I chose one barrel of my Sonoma Valley 'Montecillo' Cabernet and one barrel of my Napa ‘Beckstoffer Georges III’ Cabernet to produce a mere 50 cases. The 2012 Encomium is dedicated to my youth sports coaches. 50 cases produced.
2014 Keating 'Buchignani' Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
This 100% single vineyard designate Zinfandel comes from the two-acre dry farmed Buchignani vineyard, located just east of Dry Creek Road. Zinfandel lovers will appreciate the flavors of strawberry jam exploding from the glass along with hints of raspberry and basil. 170 cases produced.
2014 Keating 'Montecillo' Zinfandel, Moon Mountain District
The Keating Sonoma Valley Zinfandel comes from the Montecillo vineyard sitting at 1500' overlooking Sonoma Valley. 2014 was a very good vintage for Zinfandel. The dry summer and occasional heat spike followed by cool nights led to enormous fruit and high acidity. You might notice a slight earthiness in the nose, which is typical from this mountain vineyard with rocky soil. However, the dominating flavors for this bottle are going to be rich, dark fruits. Moderate tannins help this wine age longer.
2014 Keating Malbec, Rockpile
For the third consecutive release, the Rockpile Malbec is 100% Malbec. 2014 was a great vintage and the result was a very concentrated wine with a long finish. Wait until you see its color! Many consider this to be our signature wine. 115 cases produced.
2012 Keating 'Finvarra' Red Wine
For the second year, we produced a Bordeaux-style blend from vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. The name Finvarra comes from Irish folklore. Finvarra was the High King of the Daoine Sidhe (pronounced Donna-Shay) who ensured good harvest to all those the followed him. The inaugural vintage of Finvarra had cooler than typical conditions which allows it to easily be mistaken for an actual Bordeaux!
