2013 Keating 'Encomium' Cabernet Sauvignon

Encomium (Latin) means "enthusiasm and warmth in praising a person or thing." 2011 Finvarra

2013 Keating 'Finvarra' Red Wine

For the second year, we produced a Bordeaux-style blend from vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. The name Finvarra comes from Irish folklore. Finvarra was the High King of the Daoine Sidhe (pronounced Donna-Shay) who ensured good harvest to all those the followed him. The final blend for 2013 includes four of the original Bordeaux varieties – 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petite Verdot, 15% Merlot, and 2% Malbec.  145 cases produced.

2014 Keating Petite Sirah, Rockpile

My Petite Sirah is sourced from the Rockpile AVA in northern Sonoma County. Overlooking Lake Sonoma, this vineyard sits well above the fogline giving the Petite Sirah maximum sun exposure. The result is a very full, rich wine with plenty of acidity (one of the general signatures of the 2014 vintage). 95 cases produced.

2014 Keating 'Buchignani' Zinfandel Dessert Wine, Dry Creek Valley (375 mL)

2014 marks the first year that Keating Wines made a dessert wine. The Buchignani Zinfandel grapes consitently have a bright, red fruit quality that works well when fortified. As far as port style wines go, this will have lighter mouthfeel than you might expect with only 2.2% residual sugar (or 22 g/L). Made in the Ruby style, this wine will go well with just about any dessert, heavy cheese, or a good cigar. 130 cases produced.
